5 months

So, I was in Florida right after she officially turned 5 months, so this is late. Sorry about that (I'm sure you were all just sitting on pins and needles waiting for this post.)
The past month has been so great. Every month I think to myself, "no, THIS is my favorite." But, to be honest, SHE is my favorite, so every age will be my favorite (until she is about 9...then she can be Danny's favorite - just kidding (ish!)) I literally have no complaints about parenthood - wait, wait, no I take that back...pregnancy, I DO have complaints about pregnancy...and the worry that comes with parenthood. Yes, THOSE I have complaints about. But, they are so totally worth it, the complaints are null in comparison. I just look at my Ruthie, and the love I have for her is so huge, it hurts my heart. It just makes me think, if I love her this much, in my own fallible way, how much more does the Lord love us? in his perfect way. It blows my mind!

Now for the 5 month top 10!

10. Now, if you are overtired, you aren't cranky so much as super silly. You think everything is funny if you are tired. It's like you are a 13 year old at a slumber party.

9. You love your excersaucer we got you!

My cheeks, chins and I LOVE it!

8.Peek-a-boo. You love playing, though you think I'm doing a magic trick and disappearing - you haven't gotten the point of the game just yet, but you smile every time I come back!

7.Starting to throw fits - like when I take a toy out of your hands and you want it. Luckily you don't have permanence so as soon as you don't see it, it doesn't exist to you. Hopefully we get those fits under control before permanence sets in.
6. You scootch around...meaning, you are becoming independent! I put you on your tummy with toys in front of you, and when I come back you have the toy in your hand, and have turned 180 degrees. Oooookay, if it works for you! Seems to be inefficient to me, but to each her own!
5. New noises - "mmmmmmmmm," and strawberry noises
4. Started lots of new foods, and mommy is making them for you (as of now.) So far you have tried bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, apples, peas and green beans (oh yea, icing and ice cream...whoopsie!) Yum yummy!

3.
You have Freeman feet! You grab things with them, and the next thing you know you'll be pinchin' people with them! I had you in your crib with your bow down well below your feet. I came back in, and you were chewing on it. You grabbed it with your fingerlike toes and passed it off to your fingers. Little booger!
2. Found your feeties...you like to play with them instead of sleep. You are quite flexible, and it is quite cute. I can't get enough of it. I sit at the top of the stairs (because from there I can see you in your crib without you seeing me) and just watch you playing and talking to your feet. You are so funny - and so easily amused!
1. You went to Sandestin for the first time! Mommy has gone for 20 years, so though Daddy couldn't come (and we really wanted him to,) it was great to bring you to a place that is like a second home for me. Hopefully, despite the ugly oil spill this year, we will continue to go so you can make many memories as well.
Here are some pictures from Florida (though many many more will come in a later post.)

Swimming with cousins and Papa!

Aunt Caca made all the little girls matching dresses!

I love you my Roo,
Mommy
