Fail us Not

I don't usually write serious things on here, but today I cannot get around it.  If you haven't read the Husmann's story, please do, and please pray fervently for them.
I can't seem to stop reading and read reading Lisa's last post - not for any other reason than - I don't know what to do for them, I don't know how to pray for them.  All I can do is literally cry out for the Lord for them, and I have and I will continue to do so.
Reading the comments, one woman said that the phrase "God doesn't give us anything we cannot handle," is completely false.  I had never thought of it before - and I completely agree.  There are PLENTY of things in this world we cannot handle.  Wives and husbands can't handle infidelity, we can't handle eating disorders, we can't handle anxiety, we can't handle depression, and mom's shouldn't have to handle the sickness or death of their child.  We weren't created to handle this.  We were created for paradise, we were created to worship and trust our Lord, and the truth is: sin has entered the world.  Because of sin, we live in a fallen world, and so infidelity occurs, mental disorders are rampant, sickness occurs, and deaths happen, not for any other reason than - this is a fallen world.  It is not how the Lord wants it.  Because of it, we hurt, we are broken, and we are lost.
But, here is the thing:  we have the Gospel, we have Christ.  And this not only gives us eternal life, but it gives us a marriage, an intimate relationship with someone who IS strong enough to handle these things.  It's a relationship, so when these things happen, we cry out, we get angry, we battle, and we draw close to His loving arms - this brings us intimacy with Him, and in the end, He is always good.  Always.  There are plenty of times God allows things we aren't strong enough for, but He is, and though we might not see it at the time, He will NEVER fail us.
