We've had a bedtime routine for Ruthie since day one, naptime or night time, we read a book, sing a song, and go to bed. It winds her down, and we've all grown to love it. She does perseverate on books for long period of times. Knuffle Bunny, Fancy Nancy, Good Night Moon, Good Night Seattle, and now, Good Night Ocean.
Ruthie has a huge interest in everything underwater. Who can blame her? Nana and GG brought her to her favorite place, the aquarium, and before they left, they bought Ruthie one of her favorite books...Good Night Ocean. I tried to get us reading the book on video because she is so darned cute with knowing her animals.
But my favorite thing we do before bedtime is sing "our song," a favorite hymn, Come Thou Font. She is so sweet singing it, a goofball, but a sweet goofball.
