Ocracoke, NC

This past weekend, we decided to take a mini vacay to get away and explore NC before we leave here in a few weeks (acckk!)  Danny, ever the logistics man and natural explorer (vs. me who has been known to plan things around places that are closed.  Details, minor details) found the island of Ocracoke, NC.  We went for a few nights and loved it.

It's a quiet island only accessed via ferry ride (Daddy's boat.)  Ruthie remembered "Daddy's boat" from her days in the PNW and loved it.

Our place overlooked the harbor, and if anyone knows me, they know - where there is water, I am happy.  My child has my genes, and the same goes with her

We also had a pool.  She started from square one with being fearful
But she very quickly got over it...

We also went to the beach
Daddy Beach time

Feet of my faves
Ruthie had so much fun, she has a dance to show you

Ta Da!  See?  She's a natural (full disclosure:  some of these pictures were taken of a fit thrown over the mention of needing to leave.)

If you haven't noticed a theme, this family loves the outdoors...as long as the ocean is involved ;)
