Our little Roo is turning the big 0-4 (weeks) today! I can't believe it's been a month. I feel like yesterday she arrived! To avoid copying Auntie Fifi's blog, I won't write a letter to Ruthie, but instead do a top ten things I love about my daughter. That way, month by month, I can let everyone in on who my daughter is, and the little things we love about her. Plus, we can highlight all of her milestones!
10. How when I read to you, you look at the pictures somewhat, but most of all you stare at me as I read to you. I absolutely ADORE children's books, and I think reading is so incredibly important, even as a 4 week old, so I love that you find your own way of enjoying our reading times together.
9. How you love to stare at the painting behind the couch. We like to think you are going to be an artist.
8. How much you love staring in the mirror. You also make the cute smile (mentioned in number 5) as you look at yourself in this mirror. I guess you think you are pretty cute, too!
7. When you open your mouth, root, and shake your head back and forth quickly when you are hungry. It breaks my heart if someone else is holding you when you do this, but it is so cute.
6. Your crazy hair. You have a lot of it (especially considering you have your Daddy's genes) and it all goes in different directions, despite my attempts to comb it.
5. Your practice smile. I can't get it in a picture yet, and you don't quite have the hang of it, but your lower lip goes half down while you try to smile with the rest of your mouth. Kinda like an opposite Elvis impersonation with a smile mixed in. Yesterday, I picked you up after you were sick of tummy time, you saw me and made this face, and it made MY day.
4. How you search for your Daddy's face when he gets home from work and you hear his voice.
3. How you search for your Mommy's face, and open your mouth, when you hear her voice.
2. Your animal noises:
Ms. Birdy, when you are "pa-setically" crying
Ms. Piggie, when you kinda snort as you eat, or get excited about eating
Ms. Goat, when you are full.
They are all the CUTEST
1. That you are in our lives, and make everyday even more enjoyable than the day before.
Dang, Roo appreciates literature already? Liv gets all squirelky when I try to read to her. Takes after her dad. I'm so excited for you to be at the one month mark! You're doing a fabulous job, mama!
