Covenant

So, I haven't blogged in a few weeks due to some stomach flu issues (twice,) IV's, colds, and whatever ELSE can hit a pregnant lady. Let's just say the on call doctors got to know the sound of a crying Mrs. Jaclyn Moore...
Needless to say, I'm back. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I'll have a longer blog then.
But...I was listening to the song "Covenant Song" by Caedmon's call (yes, circa 2000. early new millennium music was my era, okay?) and I had a thought: What I listen to, baby listens to...even if s/he can't hear it, it still has an impact. The song was a perfect song because it teaches our little one the Sacred promises given to him/her so long ago that still hold true today, and are still spoken by Him today. So, I started listening to this song and singing it (in my head while on the bus, don't worry) TO my child, to begin teaching my child the beautiful promises of our Lord that create a peace that passes all understanding.

We belong to the Lion of Judah
We are Abraham's seed
We belong to the God and Creator of everything

Let us raise up a covenant chorus
Let us bring forth our lives
To the One whose host gathers among us and fills the skies, and

Raise up His name on high
Raise up you people of His pride
Raise up and bare the fire that's in our eyes
And in our lives and shows that we are not afraid

In His light we can never be hidden
In His love we are here
We will shine through the night like a city upon a hill, so

He delivers His people from bondage
Sets the prisoner free
He has given us love and salvation, His eternal legacy

He will spare us the sword of His anger
He prepares us a home
Where we'll worship and glory before his throne, so
