Hawai'i

C/O Mimi and Nana (watching our little Ruthie Roo,) Danny and I were able to go on our first getaway...to HAWAI'I!!!  I don't know if anyone has figured it out by now but...I.LOVE.THE.OCEAN!!!  Therefore, Hawai'i has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember.  We went to the island of Kaua'i, and it was everything I could as for!
A SEAL!!!  Just chilling...(A Monk Seal to be exact.)

Second cutest animal on the beach that day...  ;)  Just kidding, the cutest

Poi'pu beach.
On my birthday, Danny surprised me by telling me of a scheduled helicopter ride.  Due to my INTENSE fear of heights, this is something comparable to skydiving to most people.  Adrenaline rush, but TERRIFYING to say the least.  It is an AMAZING way to see the beauty of the island.  Seeing as how most of the island (and the most beautiful areas) are unreachable (due to a mix of property laws and lots and lots of cliffs, canyons and craters,) this was a great way to see a literal AWEsome island.  (as Danny would say...it was "whelming.")  Unfortunately, Due to an oversight on my part, and only bringing the lens already on my camera, I only brought my Macro lens on the trip (wrong choice, Jaci, wrong choice,) so many of the shots are "underwhelming" compared to the actual experience.  So, give me grace, please.

Fantasy Island

Our wake up call...at 4 am.  (they take OVER the island...beaches, mountains, and all!)
On our last day, we did one of the ONLY hikes I have ever fully enjoyed.  The hike, Hanakapiai beach hike, hugged the Na'pali coastline.  The first 2 miles puts you at a beautiful beach.  It continues for 11 miles, and gets more and more...ahem...racey?  hippy?  as you go.  Needless to say, we only went the first 2 miles.

I usually strongly dislike cats, but this wild kitten was so sweet and pitiful, I wanted to bring it home with me.

We ended by snorkeling at the beach next to the beginning of the trail.  I saw a sea turtle up close, and I am pretty sure that's all I need to say about the awesomeness of this snorkel.

It was an amazing trip to go with someone I enjoy so much.  After 12 years, you'd think I'd be sick of him...but I'm not...at all.  (Whew, good thing.)  I love my Danny.
