Mount Rainer

Last weekend, after many treacherous weeks of training (or not training,) we did it! We climbed(ish) Mount Rainer! Or maybe we drove to Mount Rainer, drove up it a bit, and did a 2.5 mile hike on the mountain itself. Either way, we get to check something off of our "Pacific Northwest checklist!"
We hiked from a spot called Sunrise to Shadow Lake. Hiking is a stretch for me, but if I see small children on the trails, I don't complain. Needless to say, it was beautiful!

Beginning of the hike. This is me showing Danny that I'm tough and can take the outdoors! Sorry if my muscles get in the way of the mountain. They just can't be contained...

Isn't he cute and rugged? (yes, that IS a diaper bag he is wearing)

They like each other...

Shadow Lake

Don't misunderstand me, I really do struggle enjoying hikes (mainly due to my intense fears of spiders and falling off ledges/mountains. I feel much safer walking a neighborhood than a forest.) But, seeing the awesomeness of nature just screams the Lord's work. That is one of many things I am learning living out here - the meaning of Psalm 19:1 - The heavens declare the glory of the Lord; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. It's impossible to look at this, and not see His glory.
